Throughout the Bleach storyline, Tite Kubo has given Ichigo Kurosaki some of the best transformations that not only enhance his powers to extreme levels but also make him look really cool. Being the protagonist of Bleach, it is expected for Ichigo to grab the attention of fans, but these transformations take the hype to a completely different level.
From his Vasto Lorde form to his Merged Hollow form, each Ichigo transformation has a specific role in Bleach and thus provides different kinds of power levels for different opponents. However, it is safe to say that his Mugetsu form is one of his strongest ones in the manga.
Although it is one of the, if not the coldest, Ichigo transformations in Bleach, Kubo will never make use of it again within the storyline. The reason behind this is that it will ruin the uniqueness of the power and affect its impact on the Bleach storyline.
Ichigo’s coldest power in Bleach’s history
There is absolutely no doubt that Ichigo’s Mugetsu is on a completely different level. It is a power that Ichigo used to defeat Sosuke Aizen, one of the strongest and most cunning villains in the history of anime. It is often referred to as the Final Getsuga Tensho because once it is used, Ichigo loses all of his powers and his spiritual power in Bleach.

Not only that, when Ichigo used this power against Aizen, he also lost his Soul Reaper’s abilities, but considering the opponent he was facing at the time, the sacrifice was totally worth it. The transformation changes Ichigo’s hair from orange to black and makes him look completely different. The only problem is that the transformation can last for a small amount of time.
Mugetsu covers his entire sword with black spiritual pressure, and when he swings it against his opponent, the entire sky gets covered with a black screen of spiritual power. It destroys everything in its way, including his enemy, no matter how strong he is. It was the only power that could stand up to Hogyoku-fused Aizen in Bleach.
Why Tite Kubo would never bring back Mugetsu
When Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War started, many fans wondered whether Tite Kubo would give Mugetsu another chance, considering the opponent that Ichigo was going to face. However, it wouldn’t have been possible for the Bleach manga creator to bring back the Mugetsu transformation, and there are two main reasons behind this.

First is the repercussions of the Mugetsu transformation in Bleach. Once Ichigo uses Mugetsu to its full extent, he not only loses his Soul Reaper powers but also his Spiritual Pressure.

Recovering from such a big problem is not easy for Ichigo, and he was only able to do so because of Rukia and his Fullbring. There is no confirmation of it working once again.

Secondly, Mugetsu is the most distinctive technique ever used by Ichigo in Bleach. It was only created for an opponent like Sosuke Aizen, and using it multiple times will not only ruin the impact of the attack within the Bleach narrative but also hurt the image and reputation of Aizen as one of the greatest villains of all time.
Bleach is currently available to watch on Hulu.
