Latest in Anime
It is 2025, and it has been an interesting year for anime and all its related subcategories. In today’s post we have the Chainsaw Man movie, a new release or late release if you think releasing a movie at the end of the year is of that nature.
Back in the day, before the so-called “Great Shift,” in 2020 watching anime was quite niche and used to be something one would be scorned for, but nowadays it’s one of the top-grossing forms of entertainment. Who would have thought, right?
With Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan as examples, it is now no longer strange to see these titles in cinema. What does that mean? Nothing much to those of you who don’t think much of the somewhat degenerate subculture, but it opens a lot of avenues for others.
This refers to advertising, game development, and fashion; it’s even on the news. So with anime becoming such a deeply embedded part of today’s society, it might be just about time for everyone to hop on the trend and keep up to date with the latest and greatest releases.
The Chainsaw Man movie Reze, animated by MAPPA studios as an adaptation of the manga written by Tatsuki Fujimoto, often addressed as Fujimoto sensei by fans, proves to us that even those who know nothing about anime can appreciate good storytelling. which, despite Mr. Fujimoto’s rather eccentric tastes in storytelling, can deliver a moving piece that could be called art.
With its theatrical release in Japan being in September and the United States release on the 29th of October, it could be considered one of the closing anime for the year, alongside some others, of course.
If you want a review, I would give the movie a brilliant ten out of ten. As a fan of Fujimoto’s works myself, you may feel free to call me biased in my views, but this won’t be the last time I speak on Fujimoto’s works.
Rounding up, let’s dust off our hands, rest those weary thumbs, and give the movie a try. The link to the trailer is below.
